Good morning from North Carolina. I woke up with a sinus headache this morning, so I’m using my blog to vent. Please, no more headaches!
I suffer from far too many headaches of different types. Thankfully this one can be managed with OTC meds and hot vapors from my coffee. I also get tension headaches and migraines, thankfully very few lately (knock on wood). When I say migraines, I’m speaking of 12-36 hours of nausea/vomiting, finding light, sound, and smells repulsive. I usually end up drained and dehydrated, so it takes another day to recover to full functionality. I’ve talked to doctors, had an MRI, and tried different prescriptions. I’m in a fairly good place right now, but never surprised when a headache pops up. I’m managing pretty well with exercise, diet, and OTC NSAIDS and pain-killers. I have been on prescription migraine pills a few times, but the possible side effects scare me.
Can you imagine how I feel when someone tells me, “Oh, I never get headaches”? I want to choke them! But that’s just because I’m so jealous. I try to envision what that’s like. Most of my problems started around age 25, so I must have felt much better before then, but it’s hard to remember now. Don’t get me wrong; I still enjoy life every minute I can. I just face obstacles that tend to rob me of a few good days now and then. You can bet I’m extremely thankful for a day with zero headaches.
To those of you who never, or rarely have headaches I say be thankful and enjoy. For those of you who share this problem I empathize and feel your pain. I welcome any helpful tips for how you manage your headaches. Maybe you’ve tried something I haven’t. Please feel free to share with me here or here.
I hope you all have a wonderful, headache-free day! Lovinu Lovinme 🙂
